50 things I learned in college

- People will lie.
- It's important to trust your instincts.
- You are allowed to eat.
- Don't go to bed hungry.
- People are cruel.
- Never walk home from class in a short skirt.
- Don't mix alcohol and weed.
- Don't mix controlled substances when a man is over. It will not end well.
- Morning sickness is the worst.
- Pregnancy happens, even when you think it won't.
- It is not your fault when you lose the baby.
- Sometimes, your parents are not right.
- Sometimes, you have to let people go.
- You must say, "I am not what happened to me."
- The victim is never at fault for the actions of their rapist.
- Intoxication is not an invitation.
- Raising Cane's is a terrible first date.
- Taking your meds is of the utmost importance. Remember that.
- Drink lots of water.
- Cut out excessive caffeine. Your heart will thank you.
- Find somebody to love. Your heart will thank you.
- Queen is a magic charm to stop a bad day.
- Freddie Mercury is the best person to pray to.
- Your loved ones could die at any moment. Cherish them.
- Sometimes, your grandparents look up to you.
- It's okay to listen to your body. Take care of yourself.
- Make space for chronic illness.
- If you don't make space for yourself, your health will do it for you.
- Kids say the funniest things.
- Hexing people is fun.
- Opening yourself up to new experiences is crucial for growth.
- Never stop growing.
- Don't let your roommate flush marijuana down the toilet.
- Don't spend your life in the closet because being cis-gender is comfortable.
- Talk to new people.
- Stay in touch with old people.
- Don't use public bathrooms without hovering.
- Living in a dorm is absolutely awful.
- So is the Spalding dining hall food.
- Mental health >> GPA.
- It's okay to be burned out.
- It's okay to change your mind.
- Therapy is cool, but so is self-care.
- You can't run around on empty.
- Find your passion.
- Stay in love with yourself and your writing.
- Read diverse books and learn something.
- Don't be afraid to say no.
- Starbucks on Central and 3rd is an awful place to work.
- Forgive yourself.

We love a list poem!!! (That's what this felt like, anyway.) (You are genuinely so good at writing poems.) (Speaking of, dude, Chen Chen's new collection is SO CLOSE to coming out.) Anyway. I find it so upsetting that you have such hate for the Central and 3rd Starbucks...because I go there multiple times a week. Alas.
